2026 Sir Cyril Taylor Young African Leaders Program

The AFS Youth Assembly has officially opened applications for the second edition of the Sir Cyril Taylor Young African Leaders Program. This 12-month fully funded scholarship is designed to empower 10 outstanding young changemakers from Sub-Saharan Africa with the skills, global network, and seed funding needed to transform their communities.

Program Highlights
  • Format: Virtual Training + In-Person Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.
  • Assembly Dates: August 12–14, 2026.
  • Impact: Includes a 6-month mentored impact project with provided seed funding.
  • Application Deadline: February 20, 2026.
Program Benefits
  • This is a comprehensive, fully funded opportunity that covers:
  • Travel & Accommodation: Full coverage for the AFS Youth Assembly in Switzerland.
  • Global Competence Certificate (GCC): Enrollment in the AFS virtual intercultural training
  • Seed Funding: Financial support to launch or scale your own community impact project.
  • Mentorship: Access to the AFS Youth Assembly Impact Network for 6 months.
  • Workshops: Intensive training in the "Effect+ in the Community" framework.
Eligibility Criteria
To be selected as one of the 10 African leaders, you must meet these requirements:
  • Age: Between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Region: From Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of leadership or social impact projects (SDG-related preferred).
  • Language: Proficiency in English (Intermediate level).
  • Availability: Must be able to travel to Geneva in person from August 12–14, 2026.
